problems fix! new blog with new domain

Wow… can’t believe I spend half a day fixing the problem I faced…

Setting up the blog, export contents from old blog, modifying gadgets, finding themes, figuring how FTP works, installing plugins… wow seems a lot of works for newbies like me  >_<

But, everything is fixed now! I managed to transfer my old wordpress blog to my own domain name and everything is ready to go. Hurray! This is the new URL for my blog Will Lim’s Journey

Now I’m planning to get these things set up

• Traffic tracker
• add favicon

At the mean time, I’ll start gathering content for my first free ebook and working on it! I’m sure this will help a lot of people. Stay tune to my progress.

registering my domain and hosting, …and first error!

Hey all,

As I mentioned on my previous post, I’m trying to register my own domain name and setting up hosting account. Here are the steps I’ve taken.

First, I registered a domain at GoDaddy. You can check for your desire domain name by searching it. I’m pretty lucky to get my own name as my domain name (I think it’s rare name anyway). I bought only 1 domain which ends with .com, and it cost me only $9.99/year. Well, there’ll be a ICANN fee for $0.20 so the total check out is $10.19 Not expensive too right?

After that, it’ll be setting up a hosting account for your website. I choose HostGator because I heard a lot of good feedback on customer services and the price is reasonable too. I ordered a Baby Package as I can have unlimited domains set up for just $7.95/month. I received an email with link to my control panel after in just 10 minutes!

So the last thing is to transfer my blog to my new domain name. Opps…now I’m facing problem not able to set up my site! I’ll try to get it fix as soon as possible and update the progress here later.

the journey begins now

Hi all!

I just attended Alex Jeffreys coaching program and now I’m taking action to build a blog that records my journey as I build my online business! I kindly invite you to follow me in this journey as I believe it will definitely help you in building your online business.

Alex’s program is really great. The first thing he wanted to deliver is to change our mindset and make sure we are building a real business. That is the most important part and many people always ignore that component.

After the first module, I suddenly became 10x more productive! Why? Well, Alex taught us that the first thing we should be doing is to plan and set our goal. By knowing where we are now and where we are going, only then we will not get lost and being productive in our works! That’s really amazing, I clear of where I want to go and what I should be doing now!

Alright, so I’m now setting up this blog and trying to improve it. These are what my current important tasks :

• Register my own domain name

• Get a hosting account

• Transfer contents here to the new domain name when it’s set up.
